Day 5

Distance: 6 miles, just under a 10k.
Time: ~1:11:39
Min/mile: ~12:29
Pandora: Okay, It's alright With Me by Eric Hutchinson (thanks, Reimers)
Temp: 80F/27C w/insane head wind.

Time may be a tad off. I'm apparently incapable of using timing gadgets correctly, but that's a pretty close estimate of what it should be.

I said a few days ago that I'd have good days and bad...today was bad...real bad. Though, time wise, it wasn't horrible, it felt awful none-the-less. This dang rib-cage cramp is a beating. I had one of those little side cramps for a few minutes, sheeze, I'll take one of those any day over this wonky mess of a muscle seizure I have going on. I'm sure it'll get better with time, but until then, I'll go ahead and keep complaining about it. haha.

Anyways, I ran the Trinity River in downtown Fort Worth. I did my best to stay off the concrete, giving myself a slow introduction to off road running. I also got a new pair of shoes to do the trail portion of my training. I went ahead and did today's run in them to start the break-in process.

I really enjoyed the run on the grass and gravel. It was much easier on my knees and ankles then the curvature of a street.

Sucha joined me as well. She held her own, kept me moving, and was one tired pup when we got back to the car. We both sat on the concrete in front of my car, back-to-back for a good 5 minutes after we finished. It probably would have been a funny picture if a camera was available.
